An example of strength of spirit and inspiration for everyone facing difficult challenges.
Petro Dudnyk is a volunteer soldier and a father of many children who defended Ukraine from the very first days of the full-scale invasion. He sustained a severe injury during combat operations, resulting in the loss of his leg. This posed a major challenge, as an uncertain future lay ahead and doubts about what was to come weighed heavily on his heart.
Acting on recommendations from acquaintances, Petro turned to "ORTOPEDSERVISCENTER." The center’s prosthetist, Pavlo Mykhailiuk, created a custom prosthesis for him that opened up new possibilities. After a period of adjustment and sessions with rehabilitation specialist Alina Rekuliak, Petro began actively trying his hand at various activities: horseback riding, bowling, boxing...
Now, Petro has taken up sitting volleyball. He competes in tournaments and wins awards. His days are filled with events, meetings, sports, and inspiration.
Petro shares his guiding principle:
“You need to overcome your fears and believe in yourself.”
His story is a testament to resilience and the new opportunities that emerge even after the toughest trials.
Petro has been fitted with the Ottobock 3R80 knee joint, designed for active users. Thanks to its braking control system during flexion and extension, the 3R80 ensures stability while walking, ease when navigating stairs, and a natural range of motion.
